The Tranco Farms Story
The Tranco Farms Story
What started as one man with a tractor has grown into a thriving family farming business. Our company has been actively engaged in providing agricultural services and growing crops on leased land for more than 25 years. We’re farmers, conservationists and stewards of the land. We practice sustainable farming to protect the land for future generations.
Our facilities are located in Leesburg and Berryville, VA, and we also maintain many farms throughout the mid-Atlantic region.
Tranco Farms, Inc. has used No-Till Farming practices for 25 years, growing grains, corn, soybeans, wheat, milo and popcorn. We also raise beef cattle and grow hay and straw.
On our many acres of rented land, Tranco Farms, Inc. works in partnership with landowners on land stewardship with frequent communication and consultation. Tranco Farms, Inc. is a valuable resource for landowners who are making conservation decisions on their farms, such as application of particular soil conservation practices. Our experience allows us to assist landowners with their interactions with resource management agencies. We also provide farm and land management, including maintenance of fields, fences and outbuildings.
In a region such as ours, just about all of the local area farms we maintain have historical significance. We are proud to call ourselves historical conservationists and have brought many local farms “back to life”, revitalizing the land to its optimum growing environment.
In 2013, Tranco Farms made its largest capital investment to date, purchasing 120 acres of land and building a multi-million dollar grain handling facility in Clarke County, VA.
In 2015, we started our organic vegetable garden and plan to produce flavorful, fresh and healthy produce for our community.
Tranco Farms, Inc. is registered with the USDA Farm Service Agency and is a corporation registered in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
